Day Three, le Dimanche

Day Three: With the sun shining and the air smelling of something lovely, we departed notre maison at half past 8 to make it to church in the city and 9:30 via train. Nestled in the narrom rue de St. Marie, the LDS church building and institute is centuries old, and inside one can hear a variety of languages varying from Mandarin chinese to Spanish. People of all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds passed through the doors of this church and though I could not completely understand all that was said, the Spirit I felt there was as strong as I have every felt. Such devotion and faith, often overcoming immense odds to stand for truth, the members with which I interacted were truly awe-inspiring. Church ended at half past 12 and from there we decided to spend a few hours exploring the town. After a crepe filled with nutella and bananas and a bit of orangina, we walked the few blocks to the Louvre only to find it was closed! Sad yes, but it was a wonderful experience to simply soak in the enormity of that building and its accompanying gardens. At several points I had to just close my eyes and remind myself to maintain composure. The weather was so beautiful, at every turn there was something to take in, a glimpse of the Luxor obelisk, a street taken over by hundreds of roller-bladers and darling old men playing the accordian. No idea how many miles were put on my lovely black flats today but I'm sure it was over 5... Jumped on the train after 5 hours of exploring and once again returned to our lovely Le Vésinet and chère Ninika who has dinner prepared for 8 o'clock. Until tomorrow (tales of our adventures in the shopping districts) gros bisous!
